At the helm are: Amanda Kelly,  Noelle O’Connell, Evelyn Quinlan, Mairead Connell, Tara Doyle, Ruth Miller and David Delaney . A group of locally based, talented, artistic individuals, with a wide range of experience and expertise in producing and delivering creative and community events. Collectively, they are writers, readers, theatre makers, actors, musicians, educators and community facilitators, who all share a spirit of inclusion and belonging.

The Power of Words Festival is a truly engaging weekend for people of all ages and palates. From first time and emerging writers to notable established writers, this year’s festival offers a selection of events including readings, discussions, writing workshops, poetry, Open Mic. sessions, music and children’s events, held in various locations throughout the town. 

This special weekend will also present the opportunity to appreciate and explore one of the first planned towns in Ireland, with a number of guided heritage walks and talks on offer.

The Power of Words Festival will be a feast for the curious! If your interest doesn’t lie in writing or books and such, come along anyways and enjoy the atmosphere of this special town. Enjoy something to eat or drink in one of the many local cafes or pubs, all ready and waiting to welcome you .
